When it comes to home decorating, I’ve always been a little obsessed with two elements; industrial and colour. So when I stumbled across a piece of furniture that ticked both boxes, well, nobody could really stand in the way of fate!
While this industrial coffee table is indeed beautiful to look at, it also works from a design perspective. Firstly, the steel legs – which might ordinarily be considered cold – are softened by a striking, teal colour pop. The honey tones in the recycled timber on top also provide a much needed contrast.
The sanding-back of the legs (which seems carefully considered), along with the weathered and distressed wood, add a level of interest that without it would make the table look quite obvious. And to complete the package, the legs are curved and quirky; the table just wouldn’t be the same without this element!
For now, I’ve scattered a series of lanterns and ornaments in a row on top (candles are one of my many obsessions), but I feel something larger is on the horizon. Something heavy made of stone might work well, with perhaps a few more colour pops in soft hues – flowers, perhaps. Stay tuned!
